Guidelines to help you pitch a story for our TV Pilot Program

As I mentioned in my previous blog I will be in the States working on a TV Pilot for three months.

We already have a number of solid interviews lined up, nevertheless, the population of one city in the United States is bigger than our entire continent, so I’m always up for fresh ideas and up to the minute stories.

To help you with a pitch I've outline the details of the program as well as a few guidelines to help with a pitch.

The Program

The pilot is a lifestyle program with stories from people who’ve used their influence to create worth, as opposed to wealth. Now that’s not to suggest wealth isn’t worthy, on the contrary, however we are looking for people who’ve used their influence to create worth in their communities, and a legacy for suceeding generations.

If you have a product or service you want to promote, we can discuss sponsorships, however please understand the distinction between product placement and stories.

If this is of interest to you, and you would like to pitch a story, I’ve enlcosed a few guidelines on my blog that will save us both time.

Guidelines

=> myhttp://www.speakersite.com is a good point of contact
=> my email is thedivinemisswhite@live.com.au
=> please email a short 50-word bio with contact information links & photo or 3 min video
=> the format in the subject heading should be: Pitch: {Story Name} {location}
=> second point of contact is my voice mail, 0417 472 831
=>please leave a brief message with your name, purpose of the call, and contact number

Since I’ll be on the move, please be patient, however feel free to follow up a voice mail with an email if time is of the essence to the story.

If you need me on location outside these regions, travel and accommodation costs will have to be convered to make it worth my while.

We look forward to hearing from you and working together to create worth.

Catherine,

Oh yes I have show ideas.
Wish I knew a little more about your show first to see if there's a connection.

Two questions:
Is there an Aussie version of our low budget public television?
Do the toilets really flush counter clockwise in your country?

Sounds like an interesting and compelling project. Ironically, I'll be in Columbus, OH leading a training this week! :)

Although I'll be on the road a bit myself during your stay, I am based in NYC. So perhaps we can set up some time to discuss your project further. I'd love to learn more about the types of people/stories you're seeking to feature - and the intended audience for the show. In addition to my speaking, I also coach/train leaders in the nonprofit sector. Cheers, Colette

Great idea, Catherine.
Hearing success and failure histories, you may be able to find out avoidable mistakes and desirable hints in order to show the others how to prevent or to attract whatever they may find on their roads.
Life is indeed hard to any of us and sharing experiences, mainly those full of mistakes, will help a lot our succeeding generations.
Good luck on the work, and congratulations for the idea.
I, myself, just to add to your list, made during a profitable working life of thirty years about one million american dollars incoming (all add) and it did cost me all of it to come to the conclusion that I do not need money in order to live happy. On the contrary, it did practically destroy my happiness when I got close to my top. It was a shock to me finding out that my next dream would cost at least ten times of all I have acchieved on a lifetime.

Catherine, Great, clear purpose. I'm in the NY area and am a customer service expert. Not sure there's a story there but would love to contribute any way I can. I'm traveling part of October to Toronto for a consulting job, but am always available on email. Best of luck in your endeavors.

I am an actor and trainer. So this is not my domain. Yet, I am very happy about this initiative. Keep it up.
