My Bio:
Why Invest Your Personal Development or Employee Motivation with Step Jones?

Looking for a mentor, guide, motivator is an investment of your time and money.  Let’s be very candid here and ask the fundamental question: Does an author, speaker, thinker have the qualifications and message to earn your investment? At Life Motivations, we believe Step Jones has both.

Qualifications:

* Education:
With a degree in Philosophy from the University of California, San Diego, Step possesses the mind to ask the hard questions and the persistence to pursue the truth. His grounding in classic concepts of thought give a unique insight as he looks at what makes people succeed or fail.
* Life Experience:
He has also learned the hard way. Raised on a chicken hatchery in a small town in Indiana, he rose to become Executive of the Year in Beverly Hills. Step also learned through trial and error that creating wealth (or any goal) can be fleeting without building a strong foundation to make that success last a lifetime. His development of Success Philosophy came when he looked at the reasons why he had failure after a string of successes. By implementing these principles, outlined in his concept of the Four Dynamics (which guide every decision we make), Step bounced back from the loss of a multi-million dollar business and created a life of wealth, personal happiness, and a thriving family.
* Business Experience:
Step Jones has run a $120 million business (resurrecting what had been a failing operation before his arrival) and a half-billion dollar division of a Fortune 250 company. He has also worked in the trenches on his way up and is commited to building the strongest teams possible in any organization he touches.
* Leadership:
Step participates in the community by acting presently as the President of the Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce, and he sits on the boards of The Blind Children's Center and the Maple Counseling Center.

In short, Step Jones has the qualifications.

Message:

See Step speak once and you instantly feel the passion and sincerity he has for motivating teams and also guiding you as an individual to the high level of personal development you seek as you develop your own processes to achieve what is most important in your life.

Does your company or group need a retreat?

What will a Step Jones retreat do for me?

I have been doing retreats for several years, and no two retreats are exactly the same, because the people in the retreats are different people who all want different things.

We look at things in your life that hold you back, like your risk meter, and what kind of crossroads you find yourself in. We ask, "What decisions do you want to make to change and explore your future?"

People get out of life about as much as they are willing to put in. If you think you do or don't deserve something, what does that mean? It means that you are not convinced that you deserve the life that you want.

What are the values that you hold dear and are not willing to let go of, and why do you do or not do certain things?

People come to my retreats to get better at life and to explore new and different things that they could be doing, for personal and business reasons.

The most important thing about leaving a retreat is that you believe that there is more to life than what you think you have now: That your opportunity is only limited by you.

This is not a positive mental attitude thing; you can have a positive mental attitude and still not make effective and lasting change. It is about going outside of your comfort zone, pushing forward to make changes that you would like to make. It is about living a life that is fulfilling to you, and discovering values that make a difference in how you will live.

It is about telling yourself that you can. And being willing to change your mind to take risk in your life. I was leafing through a book by Dottie Watters that I read some time ago, and I was struck by what she says: start slow and build up steam in a speaking career. I don't think successful people do that; they are either in or out. Just sticking your toe in the water, or plunging in. It has been my experience the most successful people are either in or out. They take a leap of faith or not.

If you don't have faith in yourself, who does?

I have found that a lot of people talk a good game, but when it comes time to put it on all red or black, they just want to use one chip, and maybe the rest later. So they lose one chip at a time and never give themselves the chance to be what they really want to be.

Is this a little harsh? Yes, but what is life all about for you? The slow Chinese water torture, or getting something done that creates adventure and the excitement of life.

We look to see what kind of courage you have for your life to be meaningful for you. Is this for everyone? No. Is it safe? No. Is it going to be easy for you to change years of hardwiring in your makeup? No. This takes real work and constant effort.

Friedrich Nietzsche, that wild man of philosophy, thought the human race should be destined to become great through the Overman. That means by his definition some of us don't deserve to advance in life.

What kind of thought is that?

Do you think you are on Earth just to get by? Are you here to simply exist and be? Or are you afraid of losing your job, and then what do you do? Are you so afraid of life that at some point you will give up and just exist, feeling that you can't do more with life than just live it? If you are leading a business, do you want your company to just survive in the marketplace, or thrive and be an industry leader?

I believe that you are put on this earth to do and be something great. Life is an adventure for you to live. We have the opportunity to discover truths for ourselves as to what is good for us. We have the opportunity to develop ourselves over our life to discover potentials for our life, and the ability to gain education for growth of knowledge, skills and competence over our minds and bodies.

Our philosophy is about why and how we live. And our success is unlimited in accomplishing things that give us self-esteem and happiness.

Our lives are a powerful energy that we can control, yet how many of us do control the energy that we have for living life? Does someone or something control your life?

What do we do at retreats is shake the very foundation upon which you live your life, and say, “OK, what is next for you?”

As a baby boomer my goal is not to retire, not to sit around and let life happen to me. I need to explore and discover, to create and build the life that I have been given. Anything less is not living life to the fullest potential, and that would be a waste.

What about you? Are you ready to explore with me? How about your future and how you can make it happen for you?

Wouldn't it be good to explore what you want and can do with this most precious thing called your life for now and the future?

Learn specific techniques to take your success to the next level.

Understand how to develop more personal power every day, and get the results that you are looking for.

Space is limited. Remember that our newsletter’s audience is worldwide, plus we also talk about these retreats on our weekly radio program heard throughout Southern California, so each retreat will sell out.

We strongly encourage couples to attend together (hence the significant couples discount). We have found that by getting couples to see what each other are working toward, and getting them on the same page as they work toward mutual success, they have a better balanced and more supporting relationship. Too often, we come home from work, get caught up with the kids, the TV, and all the other things in life, and don't take the time to look at the challenges we are facing as individuals that we could deal with so much better with the help of the person with whom we've chosen to spend our life. And if you don't have a significant other yet, maybe you'll meet another success-minded forward-thinking person at the retreat.

What you'll learn...

How to recognize the Dream Killers that hold you back from your ultimate success.

Develop mental models that allow you to break through your limiting beliefs and empower you for success.

How to create concrete plans to turn your goals into reality.

Explore how each of the Four Dynamics of Success is working either for you or against you, and how they constantly affect each other. By seeing how the various competing forces that control our behaviors interact, you can take more control of your own destiny.

Identify what is truly important to you to achieve so you can develop a roadmap to get you there.

How to take control of your choices, so you can better deal with the changes and events that life will hit you with no matter what.

See how your self-image and mental model of the world is filtering every piece of information you absorb, and either strengthening or disempowering you from taking advantage of your knowledge.

How these techniques are applicable to organizations as well, so you can more effectively lead others to greater success.

The importance of the right values in both your business and personal lives, and what it takes to get them aligned.

How to eliminate failure and increase success in your life, and push past those inevitable short-term failures that too many people let stop them in their tracks.

How to see the future that you really want, and put yourself in motion to get there.

How to adapt and see new advantages and opportunities as your plans and values change.

Why most of the self-help teachings we try fail, and how to end that cycle and never look back.

How to get you and your significant other on the same page so you can support each other through your individual career and business challenges.

Take control of your life so you won't be a victim.

Commit to your success

We live in a time of mythical quick fixes and get-rich-quick schemes. That is not what a Step Jones Success Retreat is about.

This retreat is about taking a little time out to focus on what it will take to get yourself to move to the next level in your personal life, your business, and anything you set your mind to. It is about laying that foundation for creating change and building the right mental models so you can find success.

At Life Motivations, we define success as the accomplishment of something that is important to you. Making more money is just part of the equation. We hold the retreats in opulent surroundings because it’s nice to enjoy the trappings of success, but focusing on how to help others in need, develop your staffs and teams, build a new business, have a vibrant family life, inspire your children, and live your dreams is just as important.

Take action to create change in your life, and take control of the choices that will allow you to live life to its fullest. Join me for two days focused on you and your success.

One of the concepts I often talk about is Crossroads Mode. That's where you find yourself at an intersection of life, and can’t make up your mind about whether to move left, right, or straight, mired in indecision, not sure whether to take a new direction. Giving yourself the chance to focus on your own vision of success is a gift you deserve, and an investment in your future you owe it to yourself to take. We will work with you to clarify your direction so nothing can old you back.

If your life is perfect right now, and you don't want to change anything about yourself, your family, your company, your career, or your future, you don't need to come. But if like most of us, you need a reminder of the dreams that you have imagined about what your life, your business, and your future can be, along with a solid grounding in how to get there, join us for a life-changing day.

“Step was a featured speaker for our sales team at DCH Toyota of Torrance. Quite simply, Step was fantastic. He had a solid command of his material and his style was both engaging and entertaining. Most importantly, the material he taught not only would help a salesperson's career, it has the potential to transform their personal lives.” December 26, 2008

It was great the way you made the comparison between 'The Happy Hooker' and 'Daddy how do you know?" Very clever.
