Profile Information

I am a:
Speaker
I speak about:
Aging, Alcoholism/Drug Abuse, Attitude, Change, Energy (Oil/Nuclear/Solar/Wind/etc.), Entrepreneurial Business, Environment and Green Movement, Ethics/Integrity, Image/Self Esteem, Motivation, Networking, Relationships, Social Networking, Spirituality, Success, Vision and Purpose
My Bio:
As an entrepreneur, risk taker, embracer of opportunities and all-around great guy I'm focused on three primary themes:

1. Romanticism of Ideals versus the Pragmatism of Actions: The relationship between the character and values of individuals and groups within a society and its consequences - both long and short term - in the home, in the workplace, and in society.
2. How to be happy, joyous and free in a dynamic society that espouses the virtues of non-conformity but demands conformity.
3. T. Boone Pickens' plan for a cohesive, aggressive energy policy that address the long-term strategic importance of energy independence, protects the environment and creates a green economy of well paying blue-collar jobs.

“The unexamined life is not worth living," argued Socrates. At which point his fellow Athenians executed him.

These are not abstract concepts but instead concrete issues that can influence the ability of an individual, and a society, to flourish.

Professionally, I've been a sailor, car salesman, student, entrepreneur, insurance agent, recruiter, U.S. Marine infantryman, and a pragmatic idealist...or is idealistic pragmatist.

Today I travel North America recovering carbon such as coal and coke from early and mid-20th century industrial sites. These sites include brownfields, shuttered plants, steel mills, foundries, and other historically coal dependent industrial sites.
