My Bio:
Technical communicator. Freelance journalist. Technology enthusiast. Consultant. Blogger. I'm all of those things, and more.
I've been writing professionally for 17 years, and have covered a lot of territory in that time -- financial services, telecommunications, security, Web applications, manufacturing, marketing collateral, and a lot of articles. I've learned a lot in my various gigs, and enjoy sharing what I've learned through writing and presenting.
My presentation style is friendly yet packed with useful information and anecdotes from my experience. I've been praised as an effective speaker who makes topics accessible, interesting, and informative. I teach, entertain, cajole, converse, and am sometimes controversial. I have fun, and so do my audiences.
What I do best:
I try to tell a story in my presentations, and also engage the audience. My style of presenting enables me to make a connection with an audience, and get them to take part. This makes for a more enriching experience, both for the audience and for me. I definitely believe what musician Robert Fripp pointed out: The perception of the audience is the interesting part.
But I'm not limited to the topics that I've listed. If I'm enthusiastic about something, I can speak about it.
I charge a fee of:
Free
Some notes on how I charge for my services:
The amount I charge depends on the topic and to whom I'm presenting. I'm not above speaking for free, but I'm also willing to negotiate a speaking fee.
