My Bio:
The Godfather of Government Marketing - Author, consultant, speaker, CEO coach and radio host Mark Amtower has focused on one market – Global One - doing business with government - for twenty-five years. Known in Washington, DC for his all-black attire and extreme candor, Amtower is by far the most influential and candid voice in business-to-government marketing, quoted in over 200 publications, doing interviews on business-talk radio around the country, speaking at 15+ conferences and seminars each year.

He is the founding partner of Amtower & Company, of Highland, Maryland. Each year he consults with senior management in several companies on government marketing programs. He is the author of Government Marketing Best Practices, published in January, 2005 (now in its fifth printing), and the producer of the audio series The Ultimate Government Sales Jumpstart Program and The Amtower B2B Publicity 2.0 series.

His radio show, Amtower Off-Center, is heard on Federal News Radio, WFED 1500 AM in Washington DC. The hour-long talk show airs Monday at 12:00 Noon, and is simulcast and archived on www.FederalNewsRadio.com.

Mark is on the Board of Advisors for the American Small Business Coalition, Ex-Nihilo Management, and CyberPatrol. He is widely known for his candor in his articles, radio interviews, presentations and keynotes. He is also known for not wearing ties – anywhere.

His home-based consulting business, Amtower & Company, was founded in 1985. Mark resides in Highland, Maryland with his wife and two children.

Highlights:

• BtoB magazine as one of the top 100 business marketers in the country in the annual Who's Who in B-to-B 2008

• Author: Government Marketing Best Practices (Jan, 2005 – now in the fifth printing); Why Epiphanies Never Occur to Couch Potatoes (Nov, 2007)

• Radio host in Washington DC, WFED (since Feb, 2007)

• Business owner (Amtower & Company) since 1985

According to Guy Timberlake, CEO of The American Small Business Coalition, Mark Amtower is the “Godfather of government marketing.” Government marketing veteran and Director of Federal Marketing at EMC Bob Gosselin called Amtower “the best of the best of government marketing gurus.” One client referred to Mark as “the mentor to a generation of B2G marketers.
What I do best:
I am a cross between Ron White and Steve Covey, with a very dry, edgy sense of humor and a rubber-meets-road message that resonates with business audiences. I am better as an after lunch speaker than a keynote, as I tend to do best at about 20-30 minutes. Samples of my lunch speechs are at www.FederalDirect.net
I charge a fee of:
$1500-$5K
Some notes on how I charge for my services:
Workshops start @ $5,000 for half day, plus travel.
Lunch speeches are $2,500-4,500, depending on if I have to alter the talks for the audience.

Mark, welcome to SpeakerSite. I'm glad you're here.

Please take a moment to finetune how much email you get from SpeakerSite. If you work on this for a minute or two, you will avoid being notified too often about activity on SpeakerSite. Here is some advice on the issue.

With thousands of members, SpeakerSite is the largest social network for public speakers and event planners. Our substantial continuing growth is good for all of us. The more speakers and event planners we have, the more opportunities for connecting more speakers with more audiences.

Anyway, it’s good for you — and all of us — if your profile is great and if you help spread the word. Here are links to two pages that can help:

1. How to Make the Most of Your SpeakerSite Profile.

2. How to Spread the Word About SpeakerSite. Would you please take a moment now to invite your friends? (You can use the "Invite" function in the main menu.)

Feel free to join (or start) Groups -- or put any question in the Forum area. (Of course, make sure your message is appropriate for the particular Forum discussion you‘re visiting.) And feel free to contact me or Rob Emrich. As the co-founders of SpeakerSite, we are here for you.

Thanks!
