I'm entering. I pointed a vid at myself in the office 2 Fridays ago over lunch & did a quick 30 second spot. Uploaded it during a telecon. No expectations, just for the fun of it all!

What about one of the 2 vids you have posted? (You know you've got my vote!)

Happy New Year Lisa - I hope 2009 kicked off on a positive note.

On the home page of SpeakerSite is a forum inviting members to PUBLICLY DECLARE their one burning goal for 2009.

The post is called 'To engrave, or not to engrave, that will be the outcome'

Members have braved up and engraved their intention with others as a witness.

Emerging Speakers in the Forum would appreciate input from a Young Professional woman with your interests and experience.

We would love to hear your ONE burning goal for 2009 on 'To engrave, or not to engrave, that will be the outcome"

Welcome to this network, it's so good to see you here. I'm also new and learning how to find my way around the forums and encourage you to do so as well.

My name is Kathie and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I manage a network of Virtual Assistants (VAs) worldwide but really started my own business in 1994 so I could be home for my 5 daughters. Things have come a long way since then. You could say my business has grown up with the internet.

I'm also an author with my latest book just recently published, an active blogger, a professional speaker (I speak about women working at home or people operating online businesses and using social networks), and I am a VA Coach & Trainer.

I look forward to getting to know you and seeing you on the forums. Oh, and if you'd like to add me as a friend, you would be most welcome, if you are interested?

Cheers,

Kathie M. Thomas

Hi, Lisa! Welcome to SpeakerSite. I'm glad you're here. I like your website.

After only four weeks, we have 1,100+ members. That's good for all of us. The more speakers we have, the more event planners we’ll attract – the more opportunities for connecting more speakers with more audiences.

So, I’m wondering: How did you hear about SpeakerSite? Who told you? Where did you first learn of SpeakerSite? Please send me a message — and, if you like, invite me to be your friend!

Anyway, it’s good for you — and all of us — if your profile is great and if you help spread the word. Here are links to two pages that can help:

1. How to Make the Most of Your SpeakerSite Profile.

2. How to Spread the Word About SpeakerSite.

Feel free to join Groups -- or put any question in the Forum area. Of course, make sure your message is appropriate for the particular Forum discussion you‘re visiting.

Or write me or Rob Emrich. We're here for you.

Thanks!

Falling in love with the real you

I recently saw the movie, "Alice Adams," starring Katharine Hepburn as a young woman struggling to fit into a circle that has outpaced her, socially and financially. Her father, content with his low-paying and thankless clerical job, is constantly berated by the social-climbing mother, in an attempt to create a life for Alice that will ensure the security of her future -- mostly by finding her an affluent mate.

Alice is portrayed both as a comical and a tragic character, where she is repeatedly… Continue
