Profile Information

I am a:
Speaker
I speak about:
Attitude, Corporate Responsibility, Customer Service, Employees and Workforce Development, Human Resources and Labor Relations, Humor, Inspirational, Life Balance, Motivation, Peak Performance, Safety/Security, Stress Success, Vision and Purpose, Workplace Safety
My Bio:
Kevin Burns – Author & Attitude Adjuster is a worldwide authority on Attitude. He is the author of seven books including his latest, “Go Ahead. Give Me Attitude!” He is an outstanding keynote speaker, worldwide columnist and international Blogger of influence. He is opinionated, blunt, direct, funny, thought-provoking and usually … right!

Kevin Burns has Attitude. But what exactly is Attitude?

Leadership is an Attitude. Management is a position.
Service is an Attitude. Customer service is a department.
Safety is an Attitude. Occupational Health & Safety is a program.
Engagement is an Attitude. Employment is a paycheck.
Accountability is an Attitude. Blame is a morale-killer.
Personal Development is an Attitude. Motivation is a myth.

Do you see where we’re going with this? Instill Attitude in your people and you will save time, energy and money on staff turnover, attrition, training, customer-loss, lost time incidents (LTI), lost productivity and useless training (Time Management, Team Building, Stress Management, etc.) programs that don’t work anyway.

Put it this way. If these training programs really worked, you’d have solved all of your organizational problems years ago.

The inherent problem in most every organizational training program is that they claim to strengthen the organization but the organization will only ever be a strong as the individuals within it. You can’t strengthen an organization and expect that strength to sustain before you strengthen the individuals within the organization. That’s like painting a car and hoping the new paint will stop the engine from burning oil.

Think Attitude. Practice Attitude. Get Attitude. Get Kevin Burns. Kevin Burns IS Attitude.
What I do best:
International Attitude Expert Kevin Burns is a masterful communicator and renowned Keynote Speaker. He knows how to get your attention, how to keep it and how to get you to make profound changes in a short period of time. And if you don’t start making changes after your time with Kevin, well ... then you don’t want to!

Now an internationally sought-after speaker, Kevin Burns is the founder of Burns Attitude Systems & Education (BASE). He works with companies and organizations throughout North America to help them achieve better performance and improved attitude. With his unique perspectives on life and work, his infectious warmth, hilarious sense of humor and his real-world attitude adjustments, he makes every keynote speech as valuable as it is memorable. Combining everyday occurrences and situations with his rich storytelling ability, he is able to relate to every segment of every organization and business through a series of easy-to-use strategies for increased individual and corporate performance by delivering a real-world, “you-are-here” attitude adjustment.
I charge a fee of:
$5K-$10K
Some notes on how I charge for my services:
50% of fee payable upon contract signing - the balance payable when Kevin walks off the stage. Travel expenses extra. Accommodation required. No charges for meals or incidentals. Travel from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Upon signing of contract, Kevin sends to you a questionnaire and then follows up that questionnaire with a telephone meeting with organizers to ensure that Kevin's presentation is relevant, timely and appropriate. Kevin's presentation will hit the mark.

He requires no computers, projectors, slides, flip-charts or overheads. Kevin simply requires a cordless lapel mic and decent lighting. A low-maintenance speaker.

Old-School Training Sessions Are Cold-Meds

Why are the newest and weakest people in the organization tasked with the most important job in the organization: customer service? Why are not the CEOs, Veeps and Supervisors, the veterans of the organization, not serving the revenue stream to the organization – the customer?

At the end of the day, senior management is responsible ultimately for the financial success of the organization. So why then is the most important responsibility - the maintaining and development of revenue streams - lef… Continue

Say Something

Have you ever noticed that the speakers who seem to get the most work are the ones who actually have something to say that no one else is saying?

How easy is that? Say something that no one else is saying.

Think about it. There are some speakers in the marketplace today, that just a couple of years ago were virtually unknowns. What changed? They found their voice. They found their ideas. And they said it - over and over again. People had the chance to think about what they were saying and thou… Continue

My "One Thing"That No One Else Seems To Know

On Dec 26, in the Author's forum, I was asked about "what is the one thing I know that no one else seems to know" and how I built my speaking business around the answer to that question. My answer is lengthy.

When I first started speaking (which was AFTER I self-published my first book), after being in the industry for just a couple of years, there were some disturbing things about the industry that I noticed. The most glaring thing I noticed is that the vast majority of speakers take to the st… Continue

One Question To Move You To "Expert" Status

I posted this entry just a few minutes ago on the Authors Group discussion. Thought I would share it with everyone.

It's just after midnight so technically it's Christmas. That means we get to open presents. Here's my gift to any speaker and anyone wanting to write a book. It is a single question that was posed to me by my friend and mentor Brian Stecyk in Edmonton, Alberta. It became the one question that I built an entire speaking business… Continue

Kevin, welcome to SpeakerSite. I'm glad you're here.

After only four weeks, we have 1,000+ members. That's good for all of us. The more speakers we have, the more event planners we’ll attract – the more opportunities for connecting more speakers with more audiences.

So, I’m wondering: How did you hear about SpeakerSite? Who told you? Where did you first learn of SpeakerSite? Please send me a message — and, if you like, invite me to be your friend!

Anyway, it’s good for you — and all of us — if your profile is great and if you help spread the word. Here are links to two pages that can help:

1. How to Make the Most of Your SpeakerSite Profile.

2. How to Spread the Word About SpeakerSite.

Feel free to join a Group -- or put any question in the Forum area. Of course, make sure your message is appropriate for the particular Forum discussion you‘re visiting.

Or write me or Rob Emrich. We're here for you.

Thanks!
