Public Speaking Success: Death by Time Limit - Tip for Trainers

The time limit: it can be fatal in the case of a Toastmasters Speech contest, but it’s not limited to just Toastmasters. I’ve seen speakers and trainers do a fabulous job with their presentations but have turned the audience’s perception of them negative but talking too much. As speakers, we naturally want to provide our audience with maximum value but less can often be more.

10 Reasons Why Someone Might Walk Out of Your Presentation

It’s every speaker’s nightmare: you’re delivering a speech and someone (or more than one person) gets up and walks out. Did you do something wrong or say the wrong thing? It’s possible that you did something to caused the person to get up and walk out (and you’ll most likely know what you d… Continue

Hi James - I hope your 2009 kicked off on a strong and positive note.

On the home page of SpeakerSite is a forum inviting members to PUBLICLY DECLARE their one burning goal for 2009. It's called 'To engrave, or not to engrave, that will be the outcome'

Quite a few members have braved up and engraved their intention with others as a witness.

Other emerging Speakers in the Forum have appreciated the input from Speakers with extensive & established backgrounds. We would also love to hear what your burning ambition is for 2009

Welcome to the site James. Thank you for contributing to the Power Point Forum earlier.

It would be great to read your thoughts on the forum titled What One Thing Will You Do Today to ensure you accomplish your 18 to 36 month goals and objectives.

James, welcome to SpeakerSite. I'm glad you're here.

After only 35 days, we have 1,200+ members. That's good for all of us. The more speakers we have, the more event planners we’ll attract – the more opportunities for connecting more speakers with more audiences.

So, I’m wondering: How did you hear about SpeakerSite? Please send me a message — and, if you like, invite me to be your friend!

Anyway, it’s good for you — and all of us — if your profile is great and if you help spread the word. Here are links to two pages that can help:

1. How to Make the Most of Your SpeakerSite Profile.

2. How to Spread the Word About SpeakerSite.

Feel free to join more Groups -- or put any question in the Forum area. (Of course, make sure your message is appropriate for the particular Forum discussion you‘re visiting.) And feel free to contact me or Rob Emrich. We are here for you.

May 2009 bring you only happiness!

Thanks!
