My client portfolio includes consultancy, training and speaking engagements for the Department of Health and several NHS Trusts plus charities and private businesses. A list of client testimonials is available on request but here are some typical samples:

My MBE was awarded in 2004 for a decade's leading work in bringing forward legislative protection and better social understanding of transsexual people. As an expert in this field, this remains one of my most popularly-sought speaking topics.
What I do best:
As a speaker I'm regularly asked to deliver keynote presentations on topics such as the Public Sector Equality Duties and the history of equalities legislation - plus, of course, the needs of transsexual people.

Audiences have ranged from 30 (small conferences) to 10,000 (Trafalgar Square). I'm also experienced in TV and Radio work and can speak (from a position of experience) on the use of new media such as Podcasting or video.

Recent ground-breaking projects have included writing the definitive guide on trans people for NHS Managers, production of a series of regional conferences on the Gender Equality Duty and the creation of best practice guidelines for setting up sustainable stakeholder consultation in the health service.
I charge a fee of:
$501-$1500
Some notes on how I charge for my services:
Fees are based on a basic (spot) rate of £500 per day, plus expenses. Charges include preparation time. VAT is not currently applicable. There is a scale of reducing fees for multiple day engagements or long term relationships. I can provide my own sound system and laptop projector where necessary.

Breaking the Camel's Back

I live in North West England – a region with a population of just over 6.8 million people.

About 20% of those people have a disability of some kind; 650,000 of them have a Black or Minority Ethnic (BME) background; well over 600,000 are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.

Add in the fact that around a fifth profess a religion which is not based on Christianity and you’ll see that, overall, diversity is the norm rather than the exception these days.

The old picture of a population that was… Continue

Public Authorities Need a Map To Arrive at Full Equalities Compliance

2009 will see the debate and passage of a new Equality Bill, intended to replace over 100 separate pieces of legislation that have accumulated over the last 40 years. The new "Single Equality Duty" will also embrace other diversities - lesbian, gay and bisexual people - religion or belief - and age. The aim is to simplify the law and… Continue
