Careers, Creativity, Motivation, Real Estate, Youth Education
My Bio:
President/COO
Schottenstein Real Estate Group

A full service real estate development, management and brokerage company specializing in multi-family housing and mixed use development.

By skillfully overseeing various aspects of property management, operations, construction development, sales and marketing, Kaufman directly contributes to the success of SREG – a real estate development, sales and management company.

After graduating from Ohio State University in 1997, Kaufman excelled in the banking industry with Huntington Bank and Banc One Capital Partners. He focused on commercial banking analysis, as well as multifamily mezzanine financing and investments.

As President and COO at SREG, Kaufman is responsible for all day-to-day operations and the management of over 50 employees and 10 communities managed by the firm. He brings great vision and creativity to his oversight of the marketing efforts of SREG’s condominium and apartment divisions. Brett has been instrumental in the company’s branding initiatives through crafting innovative interior and exterior home design, creation of unique land planning/amenity packages, and continued development of high-tech features, all bringing Schottenstein Real Estate communities to the forefront of the local housing market.

Kaufman works hard to continue Schottenstein’s tradition of providing an excellent quality of life, a positive experience and a relationship with the community residents. Both Brett and SREG pride themselves on integrity, business ethics and establishing rapport with residents, suppliers and contractors in all dealings.

In 2008, Kaufman’s leadership resulted in over $23 million in new home, condominium conversion and urban in-fill/conversion sales as welll as manage over 1,100 apartment homes.

What I do best:
It is my greatest pleasure to speak to a room full of children and/or young adults about what it means to live a life driven by passion.

All of life’s desires can be achieved by choosing EARLY ON, what it is, that truly drives us. So many young people do what they think they should, or what seems right at the time, or what others want them to do in hopes that someday, after their excuse of the moment goes away they can pursue their dreams. One day these young adults awake as much older versions of themselves (usually after it’s too late) to realize life’s started to or in some cases already has passed them by.

My passion is to reach out at an early age and give people just starting their lives and careers the inspiration, confidence and mentorship needed to be able to guide them toward a more fulfilling and lucrative life.

It is my hope that my time with you will be a life changing, career changing, motivational opportunity for high school/college students and recent graduates, that absolutely should not be missed!

As the President of a student organization at OSU that Brett was so kind to speak for, I wanted to leave feedback on his behalf.

Brett was so wonderful to work with. He was truly interested in how he could add the most value for our members and so genuinely dedicated to delivering a message that was useful and inspiring.

In his Profile Information, Brett states: “It is my hope that my time with you will be a life changing, career changing, motivational opportunity for high school/college students and recent graduates, that absolutely should not be missed!”. I can personally testify that any time spent with Brett is indeed an opportunity that should not be missed. Without a doubt, our members thoroughly enjoyed a life changing, motivational experience that surely contributed to their personal/professional/interpersonal development.

Brett is a very down to earth, personable speaker who is able to easily relate and connect with his audience. It is unmistakable that speaking to groups of young adults is a passion of his, and our organization is very thankful for the valuable time he donated to speak for us. We very highly recommend him!

I also thought it might be helpful to leave comments from some of our members:

“Very inspiring. Definitely not like every other speaker.”

“I felt like he could relate to us very well and I loved how open and genuine he was.”

“Extremely thought provoking!”

“Makes me think about a lot of things in a whole new way; just what I needed!”
